gatsby inspired wedding – fargo styled wedding

Hi everyone!

I’m super excited to share another styled wedding from the “Get Hitched” event/project. 🙂

A little background behind the images: The photos are a part of a large project I took part in this past summer. Hopefully some of you were able to attend the “Get Hitched” wedding event a couple of months ago at the Plains Art Museum here in Fargo. If not, you’re in luck!  I’m going to be posting photos from each styled shoot that was showcased at the event.

This year for “Get Hitched”, we decided to shake things up a bit and do something different than the traditional wedding show. Over the summer – wedding vendors in the Red River Valley combined our talents and services and created eight styled shoots at various wedding locations in the Fargo/Moorhead and surrounding area. Some of themes included: modern, art deco/Gatsby, outdoor garden chic, ombré, steam punk, nautical, winter, & countryside rustic. We created mock weddings at each site, complete with a bridal party, jewelry, flowers, table settings, wedding stationery and more! It was so amazing to see each shoot come together, and I was honored to be able to take part in each one.

Today I’m featuring the “Great Gatsby/Art Deco Wedding”. Art Deco is super popular for 2013 (thanks to an abundance of “the roaring 20’s” films coming out) –  I’m loving the geometric designs, glam dresses and fab makeup. Here are a few of my favorite shots:

The inspiration behind this shoot was to take elements from the Art Deco era and add a few modern twists. We utilized white, black and silver for the color palette.

La Tovola linens were used in “Sequin Chevron”, “Peau de Soie” and “New York”. Sadies Couture Floral and Event Styling did a wonderful job with the table setting and flowers. I loved the mirrored table top and crystal chandelier.

Look at that amazing wedding dress…simply fabulous! 🙂  Trés Chic did a wonderful job choosing the dresses for this shoot.

Yvonne did a wonderful job capturing this shoot. She has a great eye and a style that was perfect for this dramatic shoot. 🙂

I loved creating the stationery for this shoot. I used shimmery card stock in white and black and really played up the geometric designs and patterns of the Art Deco area.

Love the cake display – something unique and different from the usual cake table.

I created a boxed invite for this suite and added a little glam with an art deco inspired rhinestone charm. A little sparkle to catch the eye. 🙂

We did a glam libations table complete with a chevron sequined linen. I had fun creating the custom signage.

The menus were placed in a black shimmer pocket fold. I love all of the crystal and rhinestone accents.

Love the low back of the bridesmaid dress – gorgeous!
