greece!

Happy weekend, everyone!

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted anything about my life or what I’ve been up to (other than working away!) so I thought I’d share some photos of a recent trip my mom and I went on this past fall. I’ve always wanted to go to Greece and after my first summer of really being in the wedding biz – I thought what better way to celebrate a successful “wedding season” than taking advantage of a little down time and sneaking away for a couple of weeks! 🙂

My husband and I have been fortunate to travel to various places – however he’s never had any interest in heading over to Europe after living abroad during his college years. I was lucky enough to do quite a bit of traveling (across the pond) during my college years as well…and I’ve been wanting to go back. Greece has always been on my “places to see” list, so I talked to my mom and we thought – what better time than now! I’m so glad we decided to go. Between busy careers and life – planning something like this doesn’t happen every year. I wanted to travel before my schedule and life got even more busy – and I wanted to spend time with one of my best friends – my momma! 🙂 So away we went.  We spent two weeks traveling around (Athens, Mykonos & Santorini) and then spent the weekend in Rome before we came back to reality. It was such an awesome experience – and I’m glad I got to share that with her.

So here’s a glimpse of the Greece part of our trip – my favorite snapshots of a wonderful getaway…

A view from the rooftop of our hotel in Athens – the Parthenon was so pretty lit up at night.

View from the top.

We had a great tour of the Acropolis – as well as the gorgeous new museum dedicated to the site.

We spent our last day by the beach in Athens – complete with fabulous drinks and a wild peacock who joined us by the pool 🙂

We stayed near the Plaka in Athens – the older part of the city. Lots of restaurants and shops.

I love the little grocery in the photo above – everything was displayed so beautifully. Lot’s of dogs in Athens – and lots of cats in Mykonos!

We stayed near Elia Beach in Mykonos – the quiet side of the island. It was amazing to take the week to relax and unwind. Our biggest decisions were where to go for dinner at night, what swimsuit to wear during the day and what new cocktail to try! 🙂

Spotted!  A little Jack Russell kept us all entertained at the pool one day! He made me miss my little guys!

Gorgeous patio overlooking the beach.

Our beautiful hotel lobby in Mykonos.

Mykonos town. I loved walking through all of the cobblestone streets – stopping to shop, eat gelato or grab a drink. The energy of the city is amazing!

We had to make a stop at the beautiful Belvedere Hotel and have dinner at Nobu…so good!

We took a catamaran around Santorini – one of my favorite parts of our trip. It was a day of sailing around – taking in the beautiful scenery. We had dinner on board and met so many people from all over the world – Norway, Sweden, Paris & Australia. 🙂

The famous “Red Beach”.

Amazing views from our hotel in Santorini…fab views of the caldera.

I didn’t want to put up a ton of food photos – however I had to share the one below – mini turkey burgers! (or Koukoumavlos Restaurants version) – so good. It was a great restaurant in Fira.

Thanks for browsing! 🙂

Enjoy your weekend!

xo, Lindsay
