steampunk inspired wedding – fargo styled wedding & invitations

Hi Everyone!

Today I’m sharing another styled wedding from the “Get Hitched” event/project. A little background behind the images: The photos are a part of a large project I took part in this past summer. This year for the annual “Get Hitched” wedding show, we decided to shake things up a bit and do something different than the traditional wedding show. Over the summer – wedding vendors in the Red River Valley combined our talents and services and created eight styled shoots at various wedding locations in the Fargo/Moorhead and surrounding area. We created mock weddings at each site, complete with a bridal party, jewelry, flowers, table settings, wedding stationery and more! It was so amazing to see each shoot come together, and I was honored to be able to take part in each one.

Inspiration: Steampunk! We  wanted to do a shoot that was completely different from what is expected at a wedding. Steampunk is a style that stems from steampunk fiction.  I see it as victorian with an edge – using elements of mechanical parts (i.e. clock pieces). Take a look below at a shoot that was very unique and fun to be apart of!

I used various papers for this shoot – a combo of shimmery dark red and velvet lined paper. I also added more graphic elements to the design to go with our steampunk theme.

I love the mix of chairs and found objects we added  – very visually interesting!

The floral arrangements were simply amazing and totally reflected the style of this shoot- Shotwell Floral did a fabulous job!

West 13th Salon did a fabulous job with the hair and makeup. I love the dramatic eyes with a bold lip color. The hairstyles were also perfect for this shoot!

Wimmer’s Diamonds provided the awesome wedding bands and engagement ring. I love the black diamonds!

Once again, Sadie’s Couture Floral and Event Styling did amazing job with the details – from the La Tavola “Spiga” burgundy linens to the awesome china and  stemware…everything turned out amazing!

The HoDo also creating some beautiful plates for this shoot – an appetizer of steamed mussels, braised lamb for the main course, and puffy pastry gears for dessert. Very unique and everything looked delicious!

On the invitation I added pieces from an old watch…something to catch the eye and I loved all of the gold and brass gears – very cool!

The flowers used for this shoot: deep red dahlias, kale, viburnumberries, purple anemones, ‘hearts’ garden rose and red celosia.

The Bridal Shop provided the beautiful dress and tux.

The garter above was made by my mom…she makes BEAUTIFUL garters – message me if you’re interested in a custom design! 🙂

Britta the Photographer did an amazing job capturing all of the details of this shoot!

I also added some embossing to my stationery – something to stand out and give the creations some texture.
