winter wedding – get hitched styled shoot {fargo wedding invitations}

Happy Friday!

I’m super excited to share this post (and 7 more to come!) of a large project I took part in this past summer. Hopefully some of you were able to attend the “Get Hitched” wedding event a couple of weeks ago at the Plains Art Museum here in Fargo. If not, you’re in luck!  I’m going to be posting photos from each styled shoot that was showcased at the event.

This year for “Get Hitched”, we decided to shake things up a bit and do something different than the traditional wedding show. Over the summer – wedding vendors in the Red River Valley combined our talents and services and created eight styled shoots at various wedding locations in the Fargo/Moorhead and surrounding area. Some of themes included: modern, art deco/Gatsby, outdoor garden chic, ombré, steam punk, nautical, winter, & countryside rustic. We created mock weddings at each site, complete with a bridal party, jewelry, flowers, table settings, wedding stationery and more! It was so amazing to see each shoot come together, and I was honored to be able to take part in each one! 🙂

I thought I would share the “Winter Wedding” first as winter is right around the corner and I’m loving all of the fun details of this shoot, here are a few of my favorite shots:

The “Winter Wedding” was set up in the barn at Rustic Oaks. The structure of the shoot was a vow renewal and all of the vendors worked from the premise that this was a intimate event – fine linens, paper and chic decor. The color palette was taupe and white.

The paper I used for this stationery set was a winter white iridescent paper with a “swirl” texture. Visually interesting and worked well with the winter theme. I incorporated a shimmery ribbon to the menu’s and a soft white water color backing card.

Trista, owner of Blushed Makeup did an amazing job! I love the flowers by Sadie’s Couture Floral and Event Styling. The linens, chaivari chairs, decor, flatware and china was also done by Sadie.

Gorgeous jewelry by Wimmer’s Diamonds. Loved the smore cupcakes by Sarah’s Sweet Boutique!

The dresses were from Tres Chic Bridal. Their studio is located in downtown Grand Forks, ND. A gorgeous boutique with amazing dresses! Sadie’s Couture Floral & Event Styling is right next door and is also an amazing studio space. I would definitely recommend both vendors! They both offer unique services and quality products.

For the winter shoot – we had to have a hot chocolate bar! Such a fun idea for a winter wedding! 🙂 I created fun signage for the extras.  A great way to engage your guests and warm them up on a cold winter’s night.

Britta the Photographer did a wonderful job photographing this shoot. Her detailed shots are amazing! She also did a wonderful job with the lighting – she definitely created a warm and inviting mood while capturing all of the details!

I incorporated the damask print from the linens into the stationery design. I love how everything came together so beautifully!

Another fun idea for a winter wedding – pashmina’s as favors for each of your guests! They look gorgeous hanging on the back of these beautiful chaivari chairs. I added a little thank you for a finishing touch.

West 13th Salon did a fabulous job with our model’s hair. I love this up-do!

The Bridal Shop chose the tuxes for the shoot. They looked great on our models!

As this was a vow renewal, I wanted to do something a little different with the invite. We had the couple’s children invite the guests which I thought was super cute. I also created a boxed invitation with a handmade fabric flower with rhinestone. I love the shimmery swirl of the paper, and the water color backing card in white was a nice finish as the paper is soft and smooth to the touch.
